August 16, 2010 On Rockers In Recovery At 10PM ET (7PM PT) The Kill Devil Rum Club Is A Band That Plays Bluesy Rock’n Roll With Ex-Lead Singer From VIII Days Clean, John Palmer

by Holistic Lifestyles Radio on Aug.16, 2010, under Home

The Kill Devil Rum Club is a band that plays bluesy Rock’n Roll practicing rule number 62…Lead singer; John Palmer(Ex-front man VIII Days Clean), Bass; Brian Johnson(VIII Days Clean, Golden Given, Bad Cowboy), Guitar; Gary Cooper (not to be confused with Gary Cooper) And on the drums; Jon Abbe(Third Law of Motion, Golden Given). This band is inspired by The Doors, AC-DC, Alice in Chains, Kiss. This Band is made up of a few knuckle-head construction guys having a good time and playing some good time music. Look for up coming music on Facebook and Myspace. As the lead singer for VIII Days Clean, John Palmer experienced some success on the local level, fronting one of the most sought after bands on the recovery circuit, But even as things were going well musically, drugs were tightening their grip on him and eventually the band had to make the difficult decision to let him go. That lead to his bottom which ended with a trip to rehab in November of 2008.
John went to the Salvation
Army on Nov. 17 2008 for a six month program which he successfully completed  on May 26, 2009. John is now attending Bates Technical College  in the Digital Media program. John gets to follow his dreams instead of being driven by his demons.
