The Northwest Music Scene interviews Jared Blake from "The Voice"

Jared Blake has recently 'clinched' a spot on NBC's The Voice top 16 ("sweet 16").  Initially, Jared was the last to fill a spot on Team Blake (Blake Shelton's Team) and has slowly regained his strength in the competition by debuting his Itunes of the performance song "Not Ready to Make Nice" at #23 on the charts! Jared has been in and around the Nashville music business for almost 13 years and can share his stories of ups and down of chasing the dream, being a father, and his trials along the way.

Team Blake

THE VOICE has been ranked the #1 show of the season and broken many NBC premier records, holding title for the most-watched show.  This phenomena is no surprise with Mark Burnett productions behind it (Survivor, Celebrity Apprentice, and more).  The show has been whittled down to the top 16 voices (without limitation of looks, age, or past) in the nation through extensive auditions and battles with each other.

Jared called into our radio show at NWCZ Radio last night and gave us an update on his crazy life in Hollywood right now.
Hope you enjoy it!

Tacoma finally has a radio station!

Ready, set, go!
Podcast powerhouse The Northwest Convergence Zone is expanding into the internet radio station market with a dream and a high speed connection. If you have been wondering what all the buzz is about, wonder no more! NWCZradio will hit the ground running Friday, February 18th at 5pm sharp.
The mixed format station will combine several different genres of music 24 hours a day with daily live broadcasts.
NWCZradio will concentrate on playing music from independent artists based in the northwest region which stretches from BC to Oregon and east to Idaho.

On board so far is Hip-Hop heavy weight Quincy “Q. Dot” Henry with a show airing every Friday at 6pm.
Q Dot's Tre’dmarks Radio show will be doing the same thing he has been doing on the wildly popular Go Juice Radio for the last few years.

The Northwest Music Scene show will air on Thursday from 7pm-9pm and was born from the iconic and mildly viral Facebook page bearing the same name. Which coincidentally is the name of this blog. That show will be hosted by the Northwest Music Scene network creator Glen Casebeer, local musician Brian Johnson and Shawn Skager, a local music buff that writes for a local newspaper. The Northwest Music Scene show will also employ the engineering and producing services of music industry veteran, Sean Van Dommelen.

Another great addition to the lineup is Dave Samson. He is a veteran of KBCS and The Mountain 103.7 and has a massive blues catalog. Dave will be hosting a blues show every Monday night from 7 - 10pm beginning Feb. 21st so be sure to tune in for the best in northwest blues every Monday night!

Also, in the mix is Maurice The Fish's Raymond Hayden. The Aquarium with King Fish and Big Mike will be a one hour program focusing on the coffee house, open mic and lighter side of northwest independent music. That program will start Tuesday, March 1st at 7:00 pm.

There is no doubt these are exciting times for anyone that follows local music and NWCZradio  is in position to help a ton of local bands grab some exposure.
